About us
We own houses here. So we let houses here.
Driftwood Shore Stays began with one family house on Sandbanks that friends kept asking to borrow. We lent it, then listed it, then added seven more — each run the way we run our own.
The idea
A short list, kept properly.
Every Driftwood Shore house is owned by someone you can ring — often us, sometimes a neighbour we have known for years. Nobody hands you keys from a call centre. Nobody adds a fee at the last screen.
We photograph in daylight, price with the cleaning folded in, and answer our own phones seven days a week. It is slower than running an agency. The guest book suggests it is worth it.
What owner-run means in practice
One named person
Every stay comes with the owner's name and mobile number — not a ticket queue, not a chatbot, not a different stranger each time.
Houses we stay in
We sleep in every house each year, with our own children and our own dog, and fix what annoys us before it can annoy you.
Money without fog
Nightly rate plus cleaning. No service fee, no damage waiver, no loyalty scheme doing arithmetic behind your back.
The patch
Four corners of the same shoreline.
Sandbanks for the long calm mornings. Canford Cliffs for the village and the cliff lift. Branksome Chine for the evening sun and the pines. Lilliput for the boats going in and out of the harbour mouth.
All four sit within a few miles of each other around Poole harbour — which is why one small team can look after all eight houses properly.

Eight houses. Pick the one with your name on it.
The kettle is on in all of them, more or less. Browse the collection, check a few dates, and we will do the rest.
